Pictron Media Content Manager is an add-on server module on top of Media Gateway Server. In additional to the video media asset managed by Media Gateway Server, Media Content Manager is designed to manage hundreds of document, image, and graphics file formats not handled by the Media Gateway Server.

Pictron Media Content Manager provides a scalable, enterprise-wide content management architecture that integrates full-text indexing, automated media indexing, account management, security, workflow, media transformation, thumbnail previewing, and media distribution to meet the needs of global enterprises. Regardless of the content types, Pictron Media Content Manager provides automated "watch folder" capability to automatically import existing media assets. Metadata associated with each asset is extracted automatically and stored in database. Thumbnail and Preview images of each asset are automatically generated for fast browsing and previewing. User can select media profiles to specify the thumbnail and preview image resolutions. Standard metadata profile such as IPTC profile in JPEG, Photoshop, or PDF files are automatically extracted and mapped to Media Content Manager database schema. Administrator can turn on version control option to track version history. User can use version control to Check-Out and Check-In media assets and preserve multiple versions. A single high-resolution image format is stored for each image asset and user can get different resolutions or image file formats through Media Content Manager's automatic image transformation engine.

Users with a standard Web browser can search and retrieve any media asset anywhere, anytime based on keywords, metadata, and full-text. Each asset is displayed in the Web browser as a thumbnail image. The actual media asset can be accessed through download or native applications. Users also have the option to format or convert media format or resolution before delivery. Pictron Media Content Manager automates routine tasks with seamless workflow and provides advanced functionality to effectively manage digital media in various formats.
